Outpayment of Frozen´ holiday funds
The new version of the Danish Holiday Act (Ferieloven) has been effective since the 1st of September 2020, meaning that there was an overlapping period of holiday saving which the government decided to ´freeze´ and to be on hold until the employee leaves the Labor Market, for example on retirement.
Due to the Corona-situation and its economic impact, the parliament passed a provision on the ´Frozen´ holiday fund, meaning that 3 weeks of the funds could be applied for out-payment in end of 2020, and the remaining 2 weeks can be applied for out-payment from March 29th until end of April 2021.
The amount of savings you can claim, will depend on your holiday based income in Denmark during the period from the 1st of September 2019 to the 31st of August 2020.
