FOF in Esbjerg offers more and more workshops and courses taught in English for internatioinal residents and foranyone else, who prefers learning in English. Courses vary from creative subjects and language learning to professional development and personal growth, and the outline of English coures are continously updated as new coures are added. Autum 2026 includes for example pata making and other food classes, sewing course, spanish, creative dotting, linocut, vocal sound theraphy and more.

Take a stroll at the City Assoc´s fair to meet leisure clubs, and be inspired for spare time activities and watch performances from some of the dance, music, gymnastic and martial art associations.

Municipal Danish at AOF Job & Dansk upon arrival
The municipality will for the first period of your stay in Denmark cover the expenses for Danish Tuition at AOF Job & Dansk, which consists of 6 modules and can be used for a period of 5 years distributed with the help of a 42-month vouchers system. You will be required to pay a deposit of DKK 2,000,00 before the lessons start. The module tuition is targeted both at oral and written Danish.

FVU Danish-reading
FVU (meaning continuing adult education) Danish to improve your Danish skills is offered at several schools. You will need to speak basic Danish prior to starting FVU Danish-reading. Basic level corresponds minimum to the first 2 modules of the municipality Danish Tuition or to being able to speak Danish freely in a dialogue.
You will for example find FVU Danish-reading classes at the scholls FOF, VUC and AOF. Simply reach out to the schools directly to be screened.
